CF card formatted in error

I had hoped that today would be a great start to the New Year but alas, I've been a muppet :bang: and think I've lost all the photos taken this morning.

I was trying to get into a lower position as the horses and hounds passed me by but I managed to slip instead whilst kneeling down. When trying to put hands out to prevent a total fall, I've managed to format the card! Question is, have I lost the lot or is there a way to recover the images.

Any clues would be very much appreciated.

As long as you don't do anything else with the card it should be possible to recover them - there are a number of programmes that can do this ... I'll do a re-check on names.

Try HERE ... though I believe scandisk do a dedicated piece of software so if they are scandisk cards it might be best to try theirs first.

Worked for me, as does Sandisk's own recovery software.

Off to have a look now so thanks guys for the very quick replies. I'm using a MacBook Pro, will that cause any problems?

Virtually ever card manufactor has a free recover program for OSX, just check a few site, it does not mater whose you use they'll work with each others cards.

I've use ones from Transcend , Lexmark , Sandisc on various cards, on my iMac and all have worked, some a little better than others, just download the apps and find one you like.

The main thing is not to take any photos on your card until you get the ones you want back.
