Dennis,
Have you tried using any 'image rescue' software - Often come free with cards. You may want to google for options but I have used RescuePRO in teh past (www.LC-TECH.com/RESCUEPRO ).

Good luck

John

I will try anything on this one as the images were a paid job ...if i am being honest i dropped the CF card in the reader on a wooden floor ..my own fault

Can you still view the images in the camera Den? If so maybe copy them to a spare card in camera.

If you put the card in camera and connect camera to pc is it recognized by the pc then?

Ha...not tried that i am currently running a lexarc ard scan image rescue 5 ...it is scanning at the moment looks like its going to be a long job but at least something is happening

ZAR did/does get good reviews.

I have only needed to use it once a long while ago and it found more than the Sandisk Rescue Pro if I recall.

So something to consider and of course it depends on why the memory card is inaccessible.................dropping it with the weight of the reader may have caused physical damage to the 'processing' part of the card i.e. image files are fine it is just that any damage to the internal structure has rendered them "gone". Though I surmise like there are recovery companies that can take a HDD apart to recover data this can also be done with a CF card?

Here is the ZAR link http://www.z-a-recovery.com/tutorials/digital-image-recovery.aspx

Best of luck getting it sorted 100% AOK

All help apreciated,...will update after all files have been scanned to see if i can get the images back

If you want to save the photo's on the card don't try using the card again in the camera, and certainly don't format it, try Recuva, there's a free version available.

Don't despair i've had this a few times and have always managed to get my data back.

Failing that and if the photo's are important, there are paid for companies that will do it for you, but it aint cheap.
