Hi Guys,
i've just bought a centon MR 20 ring flash off ebay and i'm just checking it's ok to sync straight to the camera(sony alpha).I know some old flashes are too high powered and can damage the camera,so at the moment i'm using a radio trigger to be on the safe side!
Any help or advice would be really helpful
cheers Andy

I've used one of these with a Canon 300D and 40D with no ill effects.

trigger voltage is 4.38 volts (Botzilla) so it will be O/K

put the black probe on one terminal and the red the other (so one to the bit that goes to the earth plate and the other to the big quench pin)

then measure the voltage across if its about logic level you're sorted, and there should be a figure in the manual (I know the 5d is like 250V) that it needs to be below

I reckon you're probably safe based on whats above but this method removes the doubt
