Hi all

My laptop has completely broken (rendered useless) I'm travelling Australia and can't afford to get a new one at the moment. I am having photography withdrawals with lots of pictures stuck on my camera. I am going to get a stick that can go into my iPad so I can continue posting photos ect, not ideal but you've got to make do!

My problem is I created a watermark a while back which I have obviously lost and I love the watermark and would like to keep consistent, I have the watermark on a photo, my question is would anyone know/ have the ability to make the background transparent? IMG_0205.JPG

I would be forever great full!
Happy to email the image over or anything!

Thanks in advance. :)

Sorry all just realised that image is double watermarked, IMG_0206.JPG

Here is the original

would anyone know/ have the ability to make the background transparent?

I would normally but your watermark was applied with a transparency
in the first place rendering the work to produce a clipped version quite
more difficult than if it were 100% opaque,

If you give me the name of the fonts you used, I could
possibly try to replicate it.

Oh shoot[emoji17] I paid for the downloaded font as well and the rest done in photoshop, not something that can be done on an ipad[emoji45]

Can you not take the hard disk out of the laptop, put it in an external caddy and get the original off the disk?

Do you have an image where the watermark is placed w/ more contrast (i.e. all on black)? That will make it a lot easier to isolate/separate.

I have it on this blue, quality just isn't as good IMG_0209.JPG

The best way is to take the hard drive from the old computer, and put it into a caddy. Asuming the hard drive is ok you can recover most files. There's maybe a talkphotography person near you who can help

The hard drive is apparently buggered along with the motherboard and its deleted all of windows according to the insurance company leaving repairs way more expensive than the laptop was its self. Do you think with a caddy the HD may work? I am currently travelling Australia so i dont suppose theirs anyone in Sydney :(

Where have you uploaded your photos? Is it possible you may have better examples hosted somewhere?

They are only on instagram and saved on a usb (which i have no access to without a laptop) (n) What did the world do before technology.

Hi Jessica,

What the company said doesn't mean anything....
If as suggested your laptop hard drive is removed & placed into a caddy you have a very good chance to access the files. Just because windows doesnt work, it does not mean that your files are gone too.
Not all IT techs have the same level of expertise...

Ok next idea... Drop my ocd with having a consistent logo.... I am considering an online design company that can design a logo for me.... (probably end up being fancier/ more professional than mine anyway) can anyone recommend a good online website to design one?? Tried a few designs on taylor brands but yet to get my fonts right as it doesn't give much option and the $3.99 or $10 a month kind of puts me off as if I use this logo for well many years that works out quite expensive but then again my logo will always be accessible thus this wont happen again, If it worth it or am i better off paying a one off fee.

Any Ideas please?

You could just design a watermark your self using Photoshop CC. I did it's a very simple process :) save it as a Brush preset and apply on a new layer to any image- where you can move it to any position within the image + adjust size and opacity to suit - simple

That's what I did with the one at the top,, that's the reason for this post. My laptop broke leaving me without access to photoshop cc for, well until I can afford a laptop again. Thus I'm getting an sd card reader for my iPad so I can continue uploading however I like having a watermark
