I'm struggling to find one of these where I can connect two CAT6 cables with an RJ45 connector into the back of a wall plate? As easy as wall plates are to wire up (especially compared to wiring RJ45 connectors) it would be even easier if I could just plug the current extension straight into the back of it.

Does anyone know where I can buy one (double port)?

Cheers

The term you’re describing is pass through, however I’ve only ever seen them personally on patch panels. Looking online there are some available but they aren’t standard fittings, not entirely sure if they’re designed for some sort of modular patch panel.

You’d also need a deep cavity behind the faceplate to accommodate such a thing, so I’m guessing that’s the reason they don’t do them?

I’m willing to be proven wrong if somebody can find some :)

Did you see the link in my post above ;)

The faceplate is fittable/fitted with these Jack to Jack couplers https://www.cablemonkey.co.uk/cat6-keystone-tool-less-modules/14232-cat6-utp-keystone-coupler.html

Cheers, I've also been looking at getting face plates with keystone outlets which I could switch out with a standard coupler.

Ideally I was hoping for a stand off face plate where the rj45s connect from the underside and the outlets are either on the face or on top. Even behind is fine if I can route up from the bottom and the stand off is sufficient to allow the bend.

But even now I've probably put more effort into this then it would be to just wire up two regular outlets lol
