Hello, I would be grateful for the advice from anyone who shoots with a Canon 7D mark ii and photographs insects. I would like to know which AF Case you find best for flying insects like honey and bumble bees. I don't seem be get many keepers and wondered if I could improve by a change of settings. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Hi Kez, the case settings are really aimed at sports and most only work in certain AF modes. I find it easier to edit them for my own use, which also includes flying insects. I think you will need to set AF servo to one of the multi point modes. Even the one that uses all 65 focus points, but rather than let the cameras auto select focus, use a manual point selection, and aim this at your subject, the camera will then track as the insect moves providing you have hit focus. I find that focus tracking sensitivity is best kept between -1 and +1 to give some lock on to the subject. AF point switching on +1, and Accelerate/decal tracking to 0. Hope this helps.

Many thanks Brachytron for your input and very helpful suggestions with regards how to change the settings. I shall give them a go.
