I don't know how I get the "weekly" icon on this thread?

Hi Carl, liking your image, the red metal claws really stand out nicely with the DOF you used.
Good lucking completing your 52

Very industrial, simple and to the point ( sorry)
I like that

BTW I've sorted your link out ;)

An interesting looking, presumably agricutural piece of equipment there.
I think I would have preferred a wider shot to give it more context.
Nice use of DoF to blur out the background.

Nice sharp image Carl and great DoF - good red/green complimentary colours in evidence too. Excellent stuff

Thank you for all your comments.

I think this goes on the front of a tractor to move hay bales around our site.

There may be quite a few animal / agricultural images during my 52. I work on an animal rehoming site of 180 acres, so lots of odd stuff all over the site

Good start to your challenge!

I don't know how I get the "weekly" icon on this thread?
If you click on Thread Tools (just above your first post, on the right), you can change your thread title and prefix.
Can you see something like (No Prefix) just to the left of your title? Click on that to change it.

Love your Metal shot with the strong colours and nice DOF!

Captive shot is distracting because of the dust on the screen but it's a creative concept! :D

Hi Carl. Had to make my way over the hard way .... not sure the link is in place to direct from the main TP52 page. A bit distracting with the dust as Sheylara says but works for the theme - aren't we all captivated by the SatNav

Metal - A well used bit of machinery right on Theme .
Captive - different take on the theme nothing to say that others haven't already said

Good stat to your challenge

Metal: Great image with a nice depth of field I certainly would want to get in the way of those teeth!

Captive: A fun take on the theme but I find the dust distracting nice depth of field to blur the background.

Thanks for all the comments. Note to self to dust prior to taking photo :-)

Hi Carl the link back to here isn't working on the photo's only page ...it's select, copy and paste the little # bottom right...this one

Carl's (Greenoak's) TP 52 in 2016 Challenge - Week 3 4 and 5 added

I really like the Miniature shot ...well done for getting the reflections in, it really adds interest, not sure if it needed all three ...I can't decide o_O

What a great idea for Happy ...very original and really nicely done too ...spot on with the focus

Lots of detail in your Abandoned if you look at it on Flickr ...all that hard work building it gone to waste! A perfect choice for the theme.

Triple whammy. OK, here we go:

Miniature: Cool idea, the water and reflections are an imaginative way to add interest to the shot.

Happy: I really like this, nice DOF and bright colours. In a while it'll just be a dull concrete floor again, which really adds a sense of occasion.

Nice sharp photo. Did you get any photos of the inside through the bars of that door?

Nice Catch up Carl
The old church for me

As already been said, sort your links out ;)
Have a read HERE

The links are now in place :-)

I had great fun doing my catchup in Bristol.

I had great fun playing with the tractors in the water, until 2 little boys thought they were left there for them and ran off to play with them. All very funny to me. For me thats the photo I like best of the 3

Happy was a real bolt from the blue on my walkabout, I has a photo of a pint of beer planned but the confetti seemed so apt.

Abandoned was a real multichoice as there's still lots of abandoned buildings in the city centre. I spent ages on a disused warehouse but the old ruin seemed a much more interesting shot. I tried the straighten in Lightroom but in chopped out to much of the image.

Hi, Abandoned skies have played havoc with some submissions this week :(

Interesting building and a shame such a magnificent is going to ruin.

Cheers.

Hi Carl

Nice catch up.

Miniature - Really like the take on this love the reflections in the 'flood'

Happy - Love the take on the theme, great DOF loving the colours against the grey pavement

Abandoned - Really like this the couple sitting on the bench add a sense of scale to the picture a shame about the sky but nothing you could have done about that

Hi Carl - well caught up; my turn to catch up on comments :)

Miniature - nice arrangement and colours work well together. Personally, I'd like to see all of the tractors in focus, but then you'd lose a sense of perspective that you get from the DOF. Perhaps shoot them on more of an angle, rather than face on?
Happy - conversely, the shallow DOF works really well for me on this one. I like this a lot - very simple but effective. Colours are obviously great as well.
Abandoned - definitely on theme and well captured. Lighting and sky is what it is - but you've handled the conditions well. It's a tough theme!

Miniature... great idea putting them in water great reflections.
Happy... reminisce of the past well spotted for the theme
Abandoned... Nice angle lovely B? W textures great bit of architecture (y)
