Cargo 2016 52 weeks challenge_ Effort Added

I like that Gary nice idea love the crumpled bits of paper on the floor the highlight on the table is slightly distracting but still a great image

Hi, nice and different take on the theme, "likes disco dancing and wearing wigs" very amusing

Great composition Gary - setting up must have been hard but it is nicely arranged. I too like the crumpled paper; lends authenticity.

Really like the personal shot Gary.
The discarded balled up rejects on the floor were a brilliant addition.

Personal, I like that. The crumpled bits of paper adding to the context.

Cheers Mark. That highlight was hitting the top of my head on the first few frames "not a good look" so I sorted that out by blocking some of the light from the table lamp. The shine on the table never registered with and I just thought it would be there in a real life scene which was what it was really.

Cheers Allen. I wanted to make a ref to some of the other images I had taken doing the 52 thing (wigs) at that time of night though my brain was hurting so stopped with a few lines I couldnt figure how to get in something to do with false teeth :-)

Thanks Ruth.
I agree some of the little touches are what make a scene much better.
Thanks for the encouragment.

Hi Gary the crumpled paper definitely adds that extra something to the shot, I'd like that highlight to catch your hand or the page, but it's an excellent idea for the theme, well done with that one.
Thanks Susie Happy you like this. Bloomin heck yes that may have looked better never thought of moving the table/myself and tripod a few inches accross (genius) ! Couldnt move the table lamp above which is on a sideboard as the wire is pulled tight to reach the socket.

Effort. I feel lazy and a cheat really being as I have set up most of my other photos so I have at least put some thought into them. I had the camera in the car when we dropped some rubbish off at the tip on the way to my parents the other day.

Good fit for the theme, nice mono conversion and good details, I'm in two minds about the OOF foreground window frame though.

Hi Gary

I agree with everyone else about the strange list and discarded bits ... different idea.

And I like the candid aspect of those two struggling with the keyboard thingy

Good one for the theme Gary.
I actually like the oof framing...it makes it look like you're doing covert surveillance :D

Hi Gary. Yeah I like the oof framing for all the same reasons. Chance take maybe but great for the theme.

Hi Chris thanks for the feedback. I liked it voyeuristic style if it were not done this way it would have had to have been taken right up close and from a lower pov I think. I'm not brave enough to aproach random people at the tip though !

Yes it does look like this :) well spotted for the theme Gary.
Cheers Susie

Thanks Carl. It just feels so easy snapping like this.I have got out of the habbit of taking the camera out into the world.Which is sad really !
Like it. Like the OOF foreground.

Well spotted...a second or two later might had added a little more drama.

Cheers.
Hi Andy. Nope I shot 3 or 4 as they made there way to the skip. This one showed the most effort :-(

Hi Carl. Sorry I missed a reply to your comment ! Thanks for the feedback. I am not sure why you would think this was a tough image to set up, does it look that way ? The light was a lamp that was on our side board which is above where I placed the little side table. I then placed some foil against / inbetween the tripod legs and my back just to throw a bit of light back.Pre focused on the paper then placed on 10 second timer.

Hi Gaz - good thinking for personal. It's quite dark, which might be the intention and mood you're looking to convey? Well captured though with thought around DOF and setup. Reflection off table is very slightly distracting for me in that it competes for attention with the main subject.

Effort works really well - good street shot for me. As with others, I like the framing as it does imply covertness. Nicely done and good choice for B&W!

Hi well spotted for 'Effort'.
Not a cheat....the best camera is the one you have with you!

It's on theme, but I'm not keen on the 'snapshot from inside a car' feel it has.
That's just me though.
I get ya Tim. Thats exactly what it was :-(

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Gaz, thanks for looking into my thread and I'm here for my first visit to yours. Just had a look through and picked out some favourites so far:

Captive - I like the dark, gritty feel to this one, and the position of your fingers on the wire is spot on to suggest captivity. Excellent start
Metal - the manhole cover is a good choice for the theme with those colours and textures, but it's the standing water that really adds light and texture and makes it another very strong image.
Abandoned - perfectly composed and this one caught my eye straightaway. Very poignant, too.
Camouflage - great idea! I had to look carefully to see what was camouflaged because you matched the size and textures so well. Perfect for B&W too
Personal - the high viewpoint works very well for this and I like the added details like the crumpled pieces of paper. Nice humour in the words on the paper too.

Good luck with the rest of your 52; like you, I'm aiming to finish this year!

Artificial - Ew.. however a good choice for the theme a very jaunty angle.
Personal - good set up I like the POV well thought up even if it was out of desperation. I like the screwed up paper on the floor
Effort - well done for having a camera with you at the right time. just right for the theme

Hi Gary,
Liking the shots so far. Captive is a really excellent shot. A simple photo that says so much. Perfect.
For metal, it's the manhole cover for me. My camera normally stays firmly indoors during the wet but I might just venture out with it after seeing your photo (y)
Miniature - Clever and great Photoshoppery too.
Happy -Cracking selfie. The clean BG makes for a good shot.
A good bit of thinking for abandoned too with the single figure in the street beyond.
Yet another piece of clever photography. Excellent (y)
Good fit to the theme. It was a tricky one that.
Spiky is a good shot. Pity about the telephone wire though. Much better in the second one :)
Artificial is a good fit to the them. I like the angle and the inclusion of the clock - nice touch.
Personal is a good take on the theme. Well worded too :D
Good mono 'covert' shot for Effort. I like the OOF framing.

Personal - I love the idea and the composition, and the crumpled sheets on the ground. :) And also how it’s dark except for the writing pad.

Effort - I think it’s a nice grab shot. The “voyeuristic” style adds more drama to the situation and I like that. Great photo! I like the b&w too.
