Hello TP'ers. I've found myself with a little more time on my hands now I'm semi retired and have surprised myself by really enjoying taking pictures of wild birds, in fact I've taken to it like a Duck to water!!!
I use a Nikon D750 with grip and a Nikkor 200-500 lens. The whole ensemble is heavy and after an hour or so of carrying it around it becomes very uncomfortable and tiring and camera shake is inevitable.
I bought a cheap aluminium Velbon UP-400 Monopod but it's not very robust and feels quite “whippy” heed buy cheap buy twice!
There's a plethora of Monopods available with wide ranging prices and the choice is very confusing. I'm 6'2” and would be very grateful for recommendations preferably for a CF monopod with a more sturdy construction and likely to be more rigid to suite my new hobby. I don't need one with a head. My budget will be £100.00 maximum. Any help to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.
Regards
NN.
