Hi all, Ive had a camera for about 14 months now and havent really used it at all. But ive recently had the urge to really get the use out of it. So im basically going rite back to bascis. Ive got Understanding exposure to read so thats going to be the first thing to do.

Im very keen to try car photography, i mean still cars mainly like show cars etc. Im not looking to do this a a profession so dont worrie anyone who wouldnt want to give advice because of that. I want to be able to go to a car show of if i see a nice car and be able to take great pics of it from different angles.

I havent got hundreds of poinds to spend on kit at the moment, but any essentials will be considered. Basically can anyone give me any tips on the basics to it, including what sort of lenses and setting to use to lighting and filters.

If anyone can find the time to help me out i would be very much appriciated, Thanks and i look foward to any advice or help going.

If the kit in your sig is what you already have, then the only thing I'd be tempted to invest in is an off-camera flashgun. The 200mm is probably the lens I'd use out of those two depending on available space, as it's very good at compressing perspective. The 18mm end of the other lens is good for distorting perspective too and getting nice and close.

The best thing to do really is replicate shots of cars you like. Once you've got your head around what you're doing, you can really develop your own style.
