I found this superb image on a car forum that I also use and was curious on how the image was captured.
Especially how the car is totally blacked out on the one side. Is it just a very fast shutter speed?

The window isn't the only light.
In fact the specular highlights are at a completely different angle, and there is also frontal lighting present, although that could be from a reflector.

My guess is that this shot owes more to PS than to the lighting
 
The chap that took this photo is a member here so perhaps he'll answer your question himself in a bit....
 
Looks like straight shot using the window to me, which is obviously bigger than we can see.

Then the background cleaned up to pure black in post.

Edit: the position of the car could have been shifted a bit to make the final composition, but I'm not sure it has.
