I've just got my new car insurance documents from norwich union. For some reason I decided to read the small print and guess what I'am not insured for driving to and from work! So I rang them up and asked what was going on the guy who answered the phone said " most accidents occur when the roads are busy and this happens to be in the morning and evening rush hour when people are driving to and from work. Hence we do not offer cover as standard for this use. If you want to use your car to drive to and from work there is an additional premium to pay" He then went on to say that I no longer had a courtsey car as standard either, and my breakdown cover was extra as well! I've got 9 years no claims with these people!
Anyway to cut a long story short I ever so politely told him were he could put his car insurance and bid him good day.
So guys a word of warning read the small print because all of these so called extras were included as standard on my car insurance policy last year.
Just had A thought if your not covered by your insurance for driving to and from work and the police stop you and ask you were you're going and you say either to or from work could/would they charge you for haveing no insurance?
