Hi All,

I just bought a box of film camera's from a car boot for £30. In the box came:-

- Olympus 35 SP
- Nikon F301 (x2)
- Yashica MAT 125G
- AFGA Isolette 11 - Agnar f/4.5 85mm lens with a Vario shutter (which I am told is the worst lens of the Isolette range).

All are in amazing condition expect the Yashica which is in pretty good nick, but I think I need to get it checked over.

What do you reckon to the list above. For only £30 for the lot I am happy if they are only good for ornaments in my home office.

Matt

I think you've done pretty well there, if they are all in working order or nearly working order its a bit of a bargain. Any lenses for the Nikon?

Lovely! Was this a boot sale in Cheltenham? If so, which one? Could be tempted to get up early this weekend :)

You lucky booter.
All desirable cameras, possibly with the exception of the Agfa. 1 & 3 being the most coveted IMHO. If they work you could sell any of them for that price, get your money back and give away a bargain.

You made quite a find with the Olympus. It's the only one in it's class with spot metering, has a really sharp lens and a bright viewfinder. Amazing camera in general.

The 35 SP has got to be worth around £100 on its own in good working condition, great find.

Excellent bargain - the 125G (actually 124G) is already worth far more than you've paid. Make sure the battery for the meter hasn't leaked, very common.

There's only one boot sale around here, and it's a 20 mile drive with expensive parking when you get there. We never found anything interesting, apart from a few books, and gave up going a while ago. Local charity shops are a waste of time too. I don't expect them to give stuff away, but £35 for a tatty 126 Instamatic because "old cameras are worth a lot, you know...". I suspect their stock is cherry picked for any real bargains before it ever reaches the shelves.

I agree, this was 100% pure luck. I think if you do get a lucky find like this you should snap it up. i.e. visiting a town with a brick-a-brack shop, pop in and just see. I bought them at £30 as I thought that even if they didn't work, they would look cool in my home office, also, I might be able to repair them. But no need, all working order :-).

I'd say you've got about £250 worth of goods there my friend, probs best to sell them on and then go and get yourself a nice cheap film camera you can ornament such as an olympus trip 35 or something and then pocket the rest of the money :)
