Why should the quality for your own house be any less tha you would sell to a customer!

I make my own on my R2400 - costs about £5 for everything including printing for a 10x16.

To POAH.

Do you frame the canvasses yourself and if so, what framing system do you use? Also, what canvas do you use and where do you get your supplies from?

Thanks in advance.

I buy the stretcher bars from arty folk and bought a 24inch wide roll of cotton canvas off eBay which I cut into 13 inch strips. **** easy to print and mount.

If you want value for money then go for these guys:

http://www.snapmad.com/index.php

If you want quality, without thinking about price, go for these:

http://www.oxfordimagecompany.com/

I've used snapmad, and i think, they're very good, many on this forum have too, for the price, they've very good...

I've not used oxford before, but they have VERY good reviews!

I have used both. Oxford imaging was around 4x the price per sq. inch.
The Oxford imaging canvas is a bit more vibrant, however, the image I used for that canvas was more vibrant to begin with (bright greens/reds, as opposed to subdued blues/greys).
The Oxford canvas came with backing tape applied to the edges. I purchased a 100m roll of backing tape for £4 from ebay, and did it myself on the Snapmad canvases.

If money really is no obstacle, then go for Oxford. If budgeting is a concern, then I am really impressed with the two A2 canvases I have from Snapmad.

Would be interested in more information on your stretcher bars. I struggled to find anything cheap. (Got an A3+ printer, but the cost of just the bars were more than I could get an A2 from Snapmad)

already said I buy them from arty folk. buying one set is not cost effective as buying 5 etc. obviously you are limited in size with an A3 printer so the most you can really do is 10 inchs wide. also the canvas works out a lot cheaper if you buy a bigger roll and slice it up.

Ah, woops. When you said arty folk, I thought you meant an artist friend, rather than artifolk.co.uk.
My bad
In theory, the printer will do 14x26", so I should be able to do a canvas at 12"x24" (with an inch border), I I can find the bars and canvas (well a roll sorts the canvas problem)
