Canvases...High End?

Simple question...would you class these as a "high end" products.

Realise there are good and bad ones so lets assume its one of the better ones

I don't think I'd class them as a high end product anymore.

They used to be seen as such, until the cheap shopping mall companies, and supermarket photo-labs started to bang out wraps on lower grade canvas and cheap stretcher bars. Even if you are using much higher quality materials the perception of them has still been irrevocably altered.

Are they expensive on my price-list - Yes & people still buy them from me in preference to large framed prints (which are about the same price eg a 20x16" canvas is the same as a 20x16" frame with a 14x10" print behind glass).

Do high-end clients buy them ? Probably not. Based on an understanding of a friends high end portrait business most of her clients buy small prints (6x4"/7x5") which are placed in silver frames & portrait books.
