I recently took a number of shots of my granddaughters prom on my iPhone and for some reason these will not open in Photoshop. They open OK in LR and I can work on them as normal. But when I transfer them to Photoshop, I get the message "Could not open "IMG_E5970.jpg" because the file format module cannot parse the file".

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Only thing I can think of is to try installing something like Snapseed (or PS Elements, or whatever it's called), on the phone, and then see if you can export new copies of the shots you want to work on.
I'm sure someone will be along shortly with a better idea!

Thanks for the help. Your avatar symbol looks like the sign for 'Bonsai' Kerry.

Are you using LR's "edit in" function? Are you using "edit original" or "edit a copy"? If you use "edit a copy" then LR creates/saves a new image file, and I would expect PS to have no issue with that.
