Yes
I'm trying to install Photoshop CS6 on my machine but keep coming up with an error. I try and install it and it comes up saying:

Capture.png

When I press ignore it fails and tells me to download Adobe support advisor. That tells me to delete the "inprogress" key in the registry. Unfortunately I don't have that key in the registry so I cannot delete it.

The computer doesn't actually need a restart and there is no inprogress key so I'm kinda stumped... Anyone else had this problem?

I'm using Windows 8.

You say the computer doesnt need a restart.

Have you tried a restart to eliminate that possibility ?

If not, give it a go.

Normally means that there is an incomplete uninstall of something or, updates pending.

Should work fine after a restart.

I've done a restart, several times.:)

It's actually done its own restarts once or twice since I tried first (about 2 weeks ago).

Have a look in task manager for any msiexec that might be running. Kill them off and then try.

If Steve's solution doesn't work, download Ccleaner (free), and run that, will get rid of any rogue remnants.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention, run the registry cleaner in the above but, be sure you know what you're deleting before proceeding.

Sorted it in the end, reinstalled Windows... Easier that usual with Windows 8 but still... Installed fine now and not a major issue as I only really use the desktop for photo work.
