Cant edit after Luminosity mask

Hi hoping someone can help! Im trying to edit an image after learning about luminosity masks and for some reason i cant make any more adjustments after the luminosity mask is applied.

I have got to where i want as far as exposure blending is involved via the luminosity mask but i now want to make further adjustments and whatever i try, photoshop just does not want to apply any adjustments to my working file. I have tried stamping image and working off that, i tried working off both the under exposed and exposed layer of the image and still no hope!

Am i missing something? Any help appreciated
 
Depending how you are doing them it could be something simple.

If for example you have selected the highlights in the rgb channels then hidden the matching ants for when you are brushing the exposure through but then failed to delselect the selection you will struggle to work in the layers with adjustments as normal. Do a cmd/ctrl + D and try again?

Beyond that it's hard to say. Check my tutorial out on here, I apply the mask to a group so I can non destructively edit the individual layers after creating the mask...

You Sir, are awesome! that was exactly it! Thank you so much you have saved a lot of head ache! Sometimes its the simple things holding you back.
