Yes
seems a good upgrade for free, obviously not in same league as Lr,C1 etc but great for some Canon cameras
as a decent raw converter and editor if your not too ambitious

yes Mark i thought I saw HDR in the menu,i haven't had time to go through it properly so if thats the case,is there any reason to keep the 3 version now?

Canon's DPP is a rough old piece of software, desperately basic compared to practically any other converter but it does give discernable improvements if you use it before exporting to PS or LR. I think of it as a pre- RAW converter although it's always possible that I don't use it properly.

Only if you still have raw files from older cameras. DPP4 is only compatible with a select set of modern cameras, although I understand that Canon often add new models to the list.

I struggled to get on with Canon DPP suite - I keep occasionally going back to it, but probably because I'm not using it enough, I just find it frustrating...

Not sure if the 'new' version is better - might have another look at it...

I use DPP and find it really easy. I like the fact that it is basic and only has a hand full of sliders. Once tweaked I send file to Ps to do any minor/local adjustments. I'm using version 3 !
