Afternoon all. I have a canon 1100d with standard lens and am looking to get a better lens for wildlife. Can I have some recommendations please? Used probably due to cost aroun £250.
Cheers
Jon

What sort of wildlife? A lot depends on what your shooting and whrer your based. Here in the UK light can be an issue with longer lens (gloomy as heck here in Wales) On the other hand a safari might get you fairly close and it might be sunny.... ;)

To be honest I just want to take decent shots with decent zoom.
I’ll take a look
Thanks

A 300mm ef lens will equate to 480mm on a cropped sensor iirc.

Location is important as stated, if in the UK stabilisation can help.
The stabilised Tamron 70-300 is a nice lens

Is that 70-300 better than 55-250stm
No it's not from what I've seen if your talking the budget Canon lens. It's longer so you'll get closer up but the optical quality isnt as good.
As Steve says the Tamron is a much better lens, and the Tamron SP is stunning good. Plus the Tamron stailisation is amazing, you can see the different when it activates looking through the camera.
