Yes
I have recently been pricing up a wide angle lens for my canon 400d but I am swayed towards purchasing a wide anlge lens adapter to fit a 60mm f2.8 macro lens, being a much cheaper option.

Has anyone used one before, and do these adapters have a huge difference in image quality? Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Putting a wide angle adapter on the end of a 60mm will not be wide at all. And yes they will degrade IQ, as with lenses you tend to get what you pay for. Whats the widest lens you currently own?

ok thanks for that, my widest lens is a 18-55mm which is wide enough but the sharpness just isnt there. looks like the wide angle lens may be the best option then. cheers.

Definitely save your money and invest in a wide angle lens. The difference will be huge :)

If you have the 50mm 1.8, that can take a screw-on adaptor and works well (as long as you step down the aperture to make up for the shortening) - but mostly because the main lens only has six elements so there is a lot of "slack".
