Canon Tripod / Lens Mounting Ring

Hi All

Does anybody have a Canon tripod / lens mount for a EF 70-300mm f4-5.6L IS USM lens which they would like to part with for sensible money, please?
I have a friend who has saved hard for the lens only to find there is no mounting ring and is really struggling to find the Canon new price.

Alternatively does anyone know of an OEM source please? I've tried one or two on EBay, but they don't seem to do the "C" mount - not sure what the difference is as I have Nikon kit.

Strange that when you are either needing help of trying to get help for another photographer you are limited to having to have 100 posts firsts.

Maybe another 95 copy and paste's of this post then? :D

In case you are tempted, there are real human beings who monitor this sort of activity :lol:

Many have been suspended for posting the same thing, time after time.

Back to your problem, it seems that they are about £140 or so which seems steep. Have you tried any of the second hand dealers? They might be your best bet in the circumstances.

Not my style, just a bit of a laugh - then I read the info re-scams and begin to understand why some of the rules are there BUT it isn't really helpful in these circumstances.
All I'm trying to do is see if someone has for sale a secondhand lens ring/collar for a Canon - I find the price absolutely exhorbitant - I have Nikon kit [& some Sigma too] and where a collar is necessary they are included as part of the lens.
I have looked at a number of secondhand shops but none seem to list them.
There are a number listed on EBay - a much more sensible price, typically £8 - £20 ish, but they don't fit!!
No worries - I'll go away.
