After trawling through the Internet & phoning numerous outlets I'm finding it almost impossible to obtain a genuine replacement battery for my 1D mkiv.
It's so frustrating, has anyone else had this problem or know whereabouts I can obtain one.
The battery is the LP E4

I got a cheap copy from Amazon and use it as my main battery. No problems with it and only £20ish.

I got a 2nd hand one from Ebay which arrived after a few days and seemed virtually unused.

If you specifically want a genuine Canon replacement they are available but at astronomical prices!
I've seen them new for anywhere up to £160 and used for £140!!
If you opt for a branded compatible then Energizer ones seem to be around the £45 mark or unbranded as low as £15 in the bay of E.

Cheers folks I would like a genuine canon one but if the copy batteries work I might well try one.
Thanks again. :-)

Look at Duracell batteries. They do direct replacements which are actually better and last longer than the Canon originals. I recently bought 2 from Amazon for £13 each (for a 50d) Bargain.

I have a genuine canon one, a Calumet branded one and an unbranded one.
The genuine and Calumet units are fine, but the other battery only lasts approx half the duration of the other two.

The genuine unit is in excess £100. The Calumet battey is in the region of
£50. The unbranded unit £28.
