Hi chaps

I have a Canon Powershot S90 and yesterday the the lens cover won't open fully. It opens about 2mm and thats it.

I've phoned Canon who tell me they can't (a) do a warranty repair without the original till receipt and (b) can't tell me if its under warranty still anyway without the original till receipt.

In which case what is the point of registering the kit when you buy it? :bang:

Anyway - they suggested resetting the camera and also changing the battery (both of which I have done as my wife's camera is a Canon with the same battery luckily enough) and the thing is still bust.

Since I have long since lost the original receipt and can't remember when I bought it exactly other than "last year some time" I think I am stuck paying for a repair

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can contact to get a good price repair on this?

Is it a known issue on these cameras or anything (I did Google but just got lots of old reviews and people asking same question on various places and not getting a reply...)

Thanks for reading, thanks for any suggestions

Hi,

My Mum has the same problem with a little Panasonic Lumix camera she has, she justs puts a finger on either side and pulls it apart so it opens, it only happens intermittently, maybe once every three or four times she turns it on.

Not sure if that would work with yours, but it's worth a try, it does not damage it and it always closes OK,
