Canon RF rear lens caps

Are the lens cpas (rear) for Canon RF lenses a different size / structure to the EF lens caps.

I'm finding that ones of my EF lenses do not fit smoothly onto RF lenses

Don't they mimic the camera mount? Therefore its probable they don't cross over very well?

Could well be that, yet the one I had on my EF adaptor fitted ok onto ef lenses (bearing in mind the back cap on this is the RF mount)

They're completely different, so aren't expected to fit! Annoyingly the RF ones will only fit on in one orientation as well.

Yes they are a pain. I pick up the cap near the (barely visible) notch and aim for MF/AF switch to get me in the ball park. An un-scientific wiggle of the cap usually finds the spot where it locks home.

It's a different mount. I didn't expect them to fit.
However, I find that the EF caps fit the RF lenses, but not well the otherway around (at least that's what I think it was).
To be honest though, I don't try to mix the caps onto the other mount. I have enough RF caps and EF caps.
If I'm swapping from an RF lens to an EF lens, the RF cap comes off the adapter and goes onto the RF lens before it goes into the bag and vice versa.

That's a good idea. It drives me nuts that you have to line them up properly.
