People of the photgraphy world lend me your ears!!!! (please)

Anyone out there got some good bad and indifferents on IR Remotes for Canon EOS range (350D 400D or 30D) please. Seen some on Amazon, Ebay and the like but.......

Didn't anyone tell you? All canon stuff sucks;)

Well I use the ADIDT remote......The 3rd party one in a red and white box that most ebay sellers sell as OEM.

It does the job for me, and for the amount of time it comes out of the bag, I can justify the £7 I paid for it, as opposed to the £20 for the original Canon one.

From this I assume that you must either be one of those sad Nikon forever people or you've not used any of their stuff :)

nuffinf,Have a Canon Cordless RC-1 which I use,had to upgrade the firmware for 350D but it works well. I also have a 30'ft wired remote for taking Pic of Birds Etc.Bought the 30'ft from e-bay came by the way of China and works well.Good luck with Your Choice..........

i am just looking at the Canon 5D remote so interested in this thread - others??? please ??? :D

The 30D doesn't work with an IR remote, the others (afaik) only work from the front (the sensor is on the front of the camera) IR also has problems in strong light.

Mine is a JIANISI one that I got of e-bay for under a tenner and look and functions identically like the £30 Canon model

I have the Canon IR remote for my 350D.

When it works, its great but its effected by all sorts of lighting conditions beyond what I would have expected.

If you just want remote release for tripod/macro work, get the wired one, I wish i had!

Forget all the Canon vs Nikon nonsense, the real contest is eBay Adidt vs Jianisi remote cords.

Michael.

I seem to remember my Canon IR job cost about a tenner new from Ebay... from HK of course! Not that I care on a ten quid plastic remote control!
