Canon remote

hi guys

I've been using a wireless 'Ebay special' for a week or 2 now, I thought I'd get 1 of these, see if I thought it was worthwhile and then spend a real amount on a Canon 1. Basically I just want to know what the range is like on the Canon remotes? I believe there is an RC-1 and an RC-5? which is the better?

hi Orrin, no idea about these as i have the cheap ebay jobby, but i am interested in the responses to your question. why are you not happy with the ebay jobby?

The range of remotes depends on your camera type.

For the 400D you have the RC1 (infrared) or the RS-60E3 plug-in type.
For the 40D you have the RC5 plug-in type or the extortionately priced wireless remote....

I have no idea on 5D or the 1D model remotes

I just find it lacks distance.. sometimes, I've found it to be ok some days and not so clever other days. Sounds strange I know. How do you find yours? Good I assume?

Not much, mine used to work to a few feet only.
