I wonder if it is possible to connect a standard android tablet to a Canon R6ii. I would like to do a couple of things.

Firstly, to view an image on the tablet so that I can take a photo using the remote.

Secondly, to control the camera from the tablet. Select focus point etc

I have seen items saying you can, but mentioning different leads.

So if someone can confirm its possible and which lead to use, I would very much appreciate it.

Many thanks

Thank you Gav and Hunnymonster.
I do have that and have used it, but found it a bit temperamental at times. I thought a lead may do the job better?

Ah.. sorry, I've no idea if a cable would work with the app, I can't try as I use DSLR, did you get any data transfer cables with the camera you could try?

Hopefully someone will be able to help.

You possibly need an OTG (on-the-go) cable (assuming the tablet is OTG capable) plus a regular data cable - if the tablet has USB-C try a USB-C to USB-C cable...

The Canon app may not like it but you could try Camera Control & Connect https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rupiapps.cameraconnectcast - if that works, for a couple of quid you can get rid of the ads.

No problem Gav, I do appreciate your reply. I didn't get anything to suit connection to a tablet
