Evening all... I have been waiting for a new Spyder to arrive as I thought my problems were due to my monitor needing calibrating. Today, I decided to run the nozzle check as a way to tick it over. The matt black was not working. Cleaned, cleaned, deep cleaned. Changed the matt black which was low as this was the advice in the handbook. Ran the nozzle check. Still not working.

I haven't yet run the System clean due to the dire warnings about how much ink it uses and make sure you have enough space in the Maintenance cartridge - they don't say how much.

Any advice please? It would happen on a Friday night... :(

Sorted.... several cleans, including 2 deep cleans.... and a replacement cartridge. Avoided the system clean. Result!

Well, after calibrating, getting new profiles... back to square one with magenta casts on my monochrome prints. I have been printing mono on Fotospeed Platinum Baryta with no problems for a long time. I do not get why this is going on. Any ideas, please?

Are you using the B&W mode for the printer? I don't have Canon but Epson uses the blacks/greys only when printing B&W thus eliminating any colour issue, which means warm tones to the image are coming solely from the paper.

Has this just suddenly started happening? One minute everything looks ok, then bam, your prints look Magenta. Same paper, same print workflow, same inks. If you haven't changed anything then there must be something wrong with the printer.

Is the nozzle check fine?

Magenta casts often seem to crop up with double profiling. Is it possible this has somehow happened?

Hi all. Nozzle check fine. New profiles ok. Thanks for your interest. I had a zoom with Fotospeed and Tim worked it out; the Mac software had somehow switched the wi-fi to air print. It's all good now. ANd, whilst I was waiting for the call back, I actually got started on tidying the office and clearing out old stuff. Win win!
