I’m having an issue with printing on my Pro-300 where paler areas of the image are washed out. I’ve attached 2 images to the post, one as it should look (apart from the darker band across the middle) and the second how it is printing now. I’m using Canon pro luster paper with the icc profile, though am starting to replace ink cartridges to third party ink as the original cartridges run out. Could this be the issue?

Third party inks could be the issue, ICC profile is for Canon OEM ink and paper. The third party inks will need new profiling.

What software are you using to print. If you use LR Classic and have the correct profiles for each ink/paper combination, you can compare in proof printing and adjust if necessary without wasting any ink.

I’m using the Canon professional print & layout as a lightroom plugin.

I think it's the change to third party ink. Not only will you need new profiles you've got a mix of OEM and third party inks currently. I'd imagine you'll be able to get more consistent results once the OEM has worked its way through the lines
