I've been trying to research what camera is best for me for a couple of months. My budget is £400. I originally settled on the Canon G9XII, as I said in my previous thread, wanting something that would fit in my pocket, since I have a 1 year old and every time we go for a day out doing photography I have to bring a changing bag crammed full of stuff for her, so didn't want to also lug around a DSLR + lenses on top of that.
However, having borrowed my sisters DSLR (she's not even into photography, her dad is just very over-the-top with spoiling her, she asked for a camera for selfies etc and he bought her a DSLR, she was 11. She's never used it.) which is an old Canon 11000D I am okay with carrying it around my neck all day. I thought a DSLR would be heavier and harder to carry around than it is. They looked heavy. BUT, I do feel very limited by it's zoom, which brings me back to the bridge cameras I was looking at before. I definitely would not want to carry around a DSLR with a huge telephoto lens.

My choices are the Canon SX60 or the Lumix FZ82, as the title says. I know the sensors are smaller and all that, but I've seen the pictures both these cameras produce and the quality is good enough for me. I am a hobbyist with no intention of selling any photographs or making large prints so I don't mind the lower quality, for me the amazing amount of zoom is worth the sacrifice.

So, based on specs alone which camera is better? am I right in thinking it's the Lumix? I don't care about features such as articulating screen or whatever, just which one produces the best end results. I will be taking pictures of landscapes, nature, wildlife, my daughter and my hamsters. Is there a better bridge camera within my budget that I'm not aware of? I could stretch to £500 for the perfect camera, I even looked at the Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 with the 1 inch sensor but the zoom is not enough.

Thank you in advance for any advice and suggestions. When making suggestions please remember I definitely want a bridge camera, I feel very limited without the huge optical zoom and will not be considering a DSLR with a telephoto lens.
