hi looking at a canon pixma ip4600 printer with a Continuous Ink Supply System has any body had any experince of this printer with one of these system on:help:

hi,i own the printer with the standard ink,i done alot of research before buying and for the money it is top spec,im very happy with it.as far as i can see you would need to spend at least twice the money for anything better and it wouldnt be better by much.it got top rated in a photo mag recently.

have predecessor without the CI........ very happy with it...........

Glad to see people are happy with it. I've just picked up a refurb from the Canon Outlet on eBay for £41 :)

Will post my thoughts when I've received it.

Might be a bit overkill I reckon, but then i'm a tight arse when it comes to ink and use third party cartridges

I know all the pros and cons, but colours are good, as far as longevity only time will tell

(quite pleased with myself for that last bit )

Its a good honest printer! Though when I used to use 3rd party ink on my 4500...about 4 sets of thrd part ink would kill it and Canon would swap it for a new un. Somehow...with my 4600 being out of warranty..I don't want to risk it..yet!

Been using third party in mine ever since the pathetically quarter full originals dried out

Still got an old Epson C64 going strong on the same stuff, my daughter uses it for her uni work and gets through loads of ink

Always used ink from these http://www.prink.co.uk/ and been good as gold

Hmmm might just give them a go then thanks.... Really never had any severe problem like colours always coming out wrong despite running tons of cleaning?

I've the 4500 and am very pleased with it and would def rec one of the range. I used to have an Epson and I've found the the Canon to be much better

It arrived today. I had it setup up in 10 mins on one computer, networked with another.

Windows 7 took care of all drivers and everything else. I printed a high res image from my Canon 5D, just using Windows built in printing thing, onto A4 glossy photo paper and it looks amazing.

Top notch!

Great printer, got the 4600 after I used my father in laws 4500. Both excellent and the 3rd party ink I am using has good colours and comes chipped while costing around £10 for all 5 inks so no complain there.

Mine arrives today. The courier left a card last wednesday while I was out so I had to re-schedule it.

Fingers crossed but.......

Great printer (we shall see....)
Great price at the canon outlet on ebay.
Brilliant 24 hour delivery from citylink.

Can't say fairer than that!
