Print cartridges are expensive here in Spain, the two for my HP used to cost me €60 each time

So I took the advice of some locals here and bought the above printer in June and converted it to CISS (bit of work with a hacksaw)

It worked fine for a short while brilliantly and suddenly everything it prints off has a pink hue to it which is terrible. I've tried all kinds of print profiles, re loaded the software, updated the driver, tried deep cleaning, and the diagnostics says all is working OK. The CISS system isn't blocked.

So I'm at a loss ... anyone had similar problems that they managed to fix. I'd just got my Crimbo card set up ready to print and now I'm stuffed!

Thanks for any suggestions

could mean not enough of one colour is being put down.

check your print head is clean first, if thats ok then take out each cart and suck some ink though it.

retry a print

Thanks Poah
Ive done much of what you said, hence coming on here in the hope that someone else might have experienced the same kind of problems and fixed it.

Doesnt seem like anyone has though which is disappointing :'(

Coming from an area of no experience, having read up on the CIS systems, a lot of them suggest that there will be some ink left in the printer from the previous cartiges, which will slowly be used up.
Is there any chance, that the period of time that the printing was OK, was whilst this small resevoir was still available?
Have you tried a print-head alignment? Not to check that the heads are aligned, but to check whether the results per 'nozzle' are roughly the same colour depth?

My CIS-ed printer started playing up last week, and I found out eventually it had lost the yellow ink. By chance I came across videos on this site (http://www.marrutt.com/videos-cis.php) which in the end cleared up the issue (blocked air valves meant the printer wasn't sucking enough ink through). Might be worth checking through video 28.

Its the first "fill" for a new printer, so no previous cartridges there. Yes thanks, I tried print head alignment ....... but see below as you hit a good point

OK on doing a nozzle check printout I noticed that it didnt match up with the original printout, in that the yellow was very very light, so colour depth has almost gone.

So I guess I have to have the thing out and check it over
Thanks for both picking up on this

Hello, I live near Alicante and I am looking for a Canon Pixma IP3600 for my cake decorating - using edible ink of course. Can you tell me where you bought yours please?
thanks

Hiya, Moraira I see ...... fancy travelling up to the MACC Camera Club at Javea some time? :-)

I buy my Continuous Ink bottles from the UK I'm afraid and get them bought over as and when. Having a CIS system means that I dont have to buy them very often thankfully. I go to City Ink Express

That post reminded me. For anyone who suffered the same problems I did (original post), I eventually discovered that dunking the heads and all in a tub of cleaning alcohol did the trick. Sounds drastic, but it worked.
