Hello

Was out shooting some MTB trials over the weekend and i think i could really benefit from having off camera Rear curtain sync.

AFAIK i cant do this with normal radio slaves?

What options have i (preferably the cheapest first lol)???

How do people find the STe2 outdoors at night? Id usually be working close in but i found myself a fair bit away the other night :(

Cheers for any input

Neil

E-TTL doesn't support remote second-curtain sync. The flash needs to be hard wired to the camera to receive the firing signal part way through the exposure.

10m cord is the best option. Not sure if new Pocket Wizards will do it. I suspect yes (£400).

I looked into this a while back when I was obsessed with second curtain. Basically, you either need an ETTL cord or the latest pocketwizards. The only way to fire more than one flash on second curtain without pocketwizards is by using optical triggers in conjunction with the main flash either on camera or an ETTL cord, I think.

As the others say wire or pocketwizards, though the Chinese have something in the pipeline according to the flickr strobist group.

If you keep the shutter speed at 1/160 the first curtain isn't toobad, and you still get a sense of movement.
