Canon lenses for Egypt

Hi, im going to Egypt soon with my Canon R5 - i thought it would be a no-brainer to take my RF 24-240mm lens, but thinking about it this isn't weather proofed. I'm not going to be out in sandstorms, etc. But obviously it is crazy dusty and humid - am i better taking my old Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM with the adapter, which is weatherproof, or am i just being over cautious?

In my experience, Egypt is definitely hot but not humid (I've travelled the Nile valley and the northern desert around Alexandria), but can be a bit dusty, depending on whether you are in desert areas or on the Nile. Definitely take a lens hood though, and definitely worth having the wide angle lens as well as medium telephoto. If shooting people in a souk etc, better to ask first.

Even camel trekking in the desert isn’t dusty ,though quad biking can be . As Lindsay says it’s a dry heat and this time of year expect 40 degrees heat up to midnight .
My main criteria when I went was a suitable underwater camera setup . And please remember the sun is intense and can melt / stretch some plastics if left in direct sunlight
