Canon Ixus APS camera question

I've just resurrected a Canon Ixus Z50 and I'm a bit concerned about the rear display.
It appears to be on, i.e. showing the camera status even when the camera is turned off.
I've searched the manual but can't seem to see anything.

I don't know about the Z50, but my EOS-3 shows a certain amount of information on the status LED even when the camera is shut off (primarily the number of frames remaining on the film).

I think it's normal.

A few of my film cameras are the same, showing a display even when the power is off.

Hi just looked at my EOSIX and that always shows the frame number even when its switched off, hope that helps.

Yes mine did too. It is only an LCD, like a watch so uses a ridiculously tiny amount of power. Don't worry about it.
