Canon IXUS 40 Flash Problem

I know this is a P&S oly but a mate of mine bought one of these a while back for his wife and she loves it, right size etc.

Anyway the flash stopped working in all flash modes and I wondered if anyone had an idea what sort of bill you would expect for fixing this? Any recommendations on who to look at it?

They seem to sell secondhand for around £30 on Ebay and I doubt any camera repairer would even open it up for that sort of money. Looks like time for a new camera....
