I have a Canon ip4950 printer with a CISS fitted. The printer prints great prints up to A4 size but there is a problem somewhere. After a few days if I print the print starts off fine but starts to print green where the black should be ! When I do a nozzle check there is no red showing (well it usually looks pink) ! If I do a head clean it will print fine for a while and then do it again. Anyone got any ideas ? Don't think it is a CISS problem because I have tried another. I am just worried that doing so many head cleans that it could be a problem. Col

I had something similar and found it to be the air filters on the tanks. they had become soaked in the ink somehow, replaced them and all find now.

how are the tanks positioned hight wise compared to the printer.

redraw the ink through the carts too which will take care of any air bubbles.

The tanks are level with printer along side it. The full story is, I bought the CISS for the printer& it worked fine at first. After a while if I didn't use it for a few days the prints would start off ok then all the black areas on the picture turned to a funny green colour. If I did a nozzle check all that was supposed to be black was green. If I did a clean it worked fine for a while again.

This system was replaced as they said it sounded like the red was starved of ink. I now have a new system that I primed before use but still have a problem. This time the print stars off fine but towards the end it just prints everything green ! If I do a nozzle check there is no pink whatsoever on the check. Do a clean & it will print fine again for a while. Problem I have is that I am wasting photo paper & am worried that a lot of head cleans will ruin the printer !
