Keep getting a problem that I'm not sure how to sort out.

Every so often my 450d will name the images _MG_2067 (number for example) in stead of IMG_2067, dropping the first I and replacing it with a _

It will happen for the set that I'm taking until I upload to my PC, when the card gets cleared. Then the next set (sometimes) reverts back to having IMG_ again.

Anyone else had this, and does anyone know how to sort it?

Cheers

As I was typing this I had an idea what it might be.

If I have AdobeRGB set then _MG

If it's set to SRGB it has IMG

Wierd!

You've got your camera set to AdobeRGB mode, switch to sRGB and the I will come back

It's to do with changing the colour space in camera from memory.

Abobe colour space gives a different prefix to sRGB (can't remember which way it is though).

Edit: What pxl8 said! ;)

I'm trying to remember the Canon practice for file naming. I think the _MG option is for when Adobe RGB is selected as the colour space and IMG is for sRGB.

I wonder if this has anything to do with it. Are you changing colour space of file type i.e. jpeg and RAW.

thanks for fast replies guys.

Yes I was testing a few things and playing about with settings.

Just sprung to mind when I hit enter on the OP.

Anyway, you all passed the test, 10/10 ;)

Hi
have you changed the jpeg color space mode to AdobeRGB, from the default sRGB ? This changes the IMG
