Yes
A few of my local camera shops have Canon G9s that I think were p/ex in for G11s.
The ones I've seen are in excellent condition, come with all the bits and are up for £220-£260 with a 6month shop warranty.
I was about to buy a G11 but am still not sure about DSLR so I'm wondering about "making do" with a G9 to see if I get on with a decent compact or if I "need" a DSLR.
Is the G9 worth a go?

I love mine. Probably use it more than the D300 if I'm honest.

I am very happy with my G9. It gets used a lot more than I thought it would when I bought it.
Many tests I have found demonstrate improved image quality from the newer model. One obvious advantage of the G11 is the wider lens which starts at a 28mm equivalent rather than 35mm. This alone may be enough to swing the decision for some. I do not intend to upgrade any time soon.
There are numerous 'should I should you' comparisons and discussions out there on the internet to help you become even more unsure of the correct decision.
The reduced outlay on the used G9 will be a big advantage if you find you "need" a DSLR after all.
