Hi,

I have the non IS version and I'm considering going for the IS version. I mainly use my current 100mm in and around the garden but I've found it a bit cumbersome carting mono-pod about. Is the IS version worth the extra investment.

TIA

What do you mainly use the lens you now for. As I'm considering buying one.

I've not used the non IS version, but for me the IS is great. I use mine on both a 70D and a 5D3 and the lens is fast enough on AF to get over 90% of the shots I want and being able to slow the shutter down enough by using the IS I can get some great shots with a large enough DOF in natural light. I wouldn't change my 100 L IS for anything.

Thanks everyone, I think I'll take the plunge and go for the IS, the current one is being used for handheld stuff in the garden, I usually just go out on a whim & couldn't really be bothered carting tripods etc around.
