Yes
Bit of advice please. I have just bought a Canon EOS M and tried a couple of test photos. There is a number displayed in the top right of the screen (100-687). Am I right in thinking this is a shutter count figure ?

Forgot to add the number is only displayed on viewing photos and does increase each time a photo is taken.

Thanks for that Terry. I bought as new but somehow I don't think it is.

you can reset it

Yes I know but my concern Is the camera has been bought from a shop as new but the folder number is 684. So my query is has it been an ex display model or something.

Did you use a new formatted card or were there images already on the card?

I have rung the canon support line and they seem to think its ok and the numbers are from testing when manufacturing. I have also just had the thought about the card. It has been used in my 550d when i had that but all photos had been deleted but don't think it was ever formatted. Would it be possible it's just continuing folder numbers on from that. Will take the test photos off and format it and see what happens from there.
