Hi folks

I am looking to upgrade my EOS 350D with an EOS 7D in the next couple of weeks, but I am un decided regarding lens selection. I use my camera mainly for outdoor action shots of both horse eventing and of motorsport in general.

I currently have a 70-200 Sigma lens but want to upgrade that too. I have a budget of £1500 all in. Any suggestions or recomendations would be most welcome. I am looking for the a lens that will compliment the 7D especially when shooting in burst mode.

Thanks

Brian

PS: Any recomendations on where to purchase from would be welcome too.

Hi Brian

If your sigma is a good sharp copy then I personally wouldn't bother upgrading it!!
The canon 70-200 F/4L is nice, but I'd imagine you want to stick with F/2.8 for the type of sports you're shooting.

If it was me I personally would be looking at Hdew for the 7D @ £835 and if you fancied a smaller zoom the 17-55 IS @£660 as that lens is just epic!

If you are desperate to upgrade the 70-200 then the older NON IS canon F/2.8 version is nice!

If your sigma is a good copy and you have no issues with it why not grab a couple of extenders (Sigma or canon) that way you then have a 300mm F4 with the 1.4x and a 400mm F5.6 with the 2x when using them with your lens

Thanks for the replies everyone.....you have all given me plenty to think about.

Looks like I will spend another night trawling the internet and see what offers I can find!

I have a sigma 70-200 2.8 OS mk 2 on my 7d when I do sports and wouldnt change it for the world!

Well it was either a grand on a second hand canon L 70-200 mk1 non is or a grand in a sigma mk2 sigma is Definately better than canon mk1 but not as good as canon mk 2.
