Canon EOS 60D with tamron 18-200mm

Hello,

I recently upgraded to a canon EOS 60d and wanted to stick with the tamron 18-200mm lens as I found this good with sony but with the canon model the autofocus is not very good.

Could it be something i am doing wrong?

What lens would you recommend as a alternative?

Do you mean the focus is inaccurate or just slow? All lenses for Canon EOS cameras have in-built motors, and some of the Tamron lenses are a bit slow in that respect. Some of the older Sony mount lenses are quicker as they are screw driven.

Both the Canon 18-135 and 18-200 are pretty good 'superzooms' if thats what you're after? Expect to pay around the £200 mark used. Or perhaps the Tamron 18-250 which is supposed to be pretty good (if you can deal with the max aperture of f/6.3 at the long end).
