Anyone used this Camera? Or its stock lens?

Mainly buying to due to cheep price and the lens :)

I have the camera, fairly basic but who needs loads of autofocus points etc on a film camera. Cant say about the lens though

Used them both, in fact I still have the camera. Basic, but they work. The lens is mediocre in almost every aspect.

How cheap?

Wow... memories...

The 1000FN was my first camera, back in 1992. I got it with the 35-80 USM kit lens. Single vertical-line sensitive AF point, 1fps drive, manual pop-up flash and a self timer that could play little tunes.

Once I graduated to the "top half" of the dial, I rapidly found the camera frustrating to use, with no control over AF mode, drive mode, etc. I replaced it with an EOS 5. Given how cheap all film bodies have become, I'd say spend an extra £10 or so and get an EOS 50.

On the lens... it's fairly horrific. Distortion aplenty and not particularly sharp, although I don't remember having particular vignetting issues. However, there's plenty of guides online about how to remove one of the elements to turn it into an extreme macro, which could be entertaining.
