Firstly let me confess utter newbieness at film, I'm just starting the learning curve and I've acquired a Canon EOS1.

The problem I seem to have is adjusting AEB. As far as I can see the "default" position before making adjustments is that the indicator should be set to 0 but mine seems to be set to -2.
Whatever adjustments I make I can never set it to centre on 0 only around the -2 point. I hope I'm making sense!

It looks more like you have the +/- set.

On the left hand side there should be a button which has the +/- icon (I Have a EOS1 RS but not here) try holding that and moving the command wheel to the right to set it back to 0

There is +/- button on my EOS1. I've had a look at your camera on Mir and you do have one, sadly I don't.

I dunno how well this cut and paste job will work, but it does appear you have exposure compensation set rather than AEB. (AEB is Auto Exposure Bracketing where the camera takes three shots at varying exposures)

1) Set the quick control dial switch to "| ".
2) Look into the viewfinder and press the shutter button halfway.
3) Turn the quick control dial to the desired compensation amount.

The dial must be turned within six seconds after the shutter button has been pressed halfway. It is effective when taking vertical composition pictures with the Power Drive Booster E1 (optionally available) attached. Beaten to it by the nimble fingers of CT :D

Yep just looked at Mir as well seems the +/- button is (looking at the picture above of the back of it) the button on the right hand side.

They are great cameras

Yes, that was the mistake I was making, my noobness shows through!

I thought that I had bought a pup as the price I paid was comparatively low.

I think I will have to spend many hours on the MIR site.

Many thanks to both of you.
