Canon EF lens query

Hi Guys

A friend has asked if he can use his old EF lenses on a new type DSLR and being a Nikonite :rules: I'm unable to answer him. I would like to know if it would be worth buying an entry level DSLR for use with these lenses (80-300 & 35-80) or should they be put aside and more modern lenses purchased?

Yes, EF lenses will fit all EOS models film and digital

Thanks for that, now is there a recommendation as to which camera to choose. Budget of around £400. either new or used.

Go for a 40D with the 50D now out £400 may get you a new one but at least a good 2nd hand model

Yes they'll fit, but if they're third party lenses they may not work properly.

You can get a 40D on eBay for about £400 ish.

I'm thinking of getting a 2nd 40D until I can afford a 1D (and when the new 1D comes out).

there is a place selling for £505 so with cashback £445 not bad.

Not yet but come the new year I bet they will be not far off £400 especially if that nice Mr Darling drops the rate of VAT
