Hi.
Im looking for a better zoom lens for my EOS4000D for Airshow Photography. The Canon website doesnt list this as a compatible lens for the 4000D. Can anyone tell me if this lens would work with my camera please or suggest reasonably priced alternatives

Hi
Thanks for your quick reply. On the Canon website page for that lens there is a list of compatable cameras and the 4000d isnt on there.
I might give it a try anyway if I can find a reasonably priced second hand example.

As shown on the page I linked to, in common with all Canon EOS APS-C crop bodies they are compatible with both EF & EF-S fit lenses.

You mention a Canon website page for the lens that a list of compatible cameras.....very odd as I see nothing of the sort here

Can you please share a link to the page that you are referring to?

Hi
Hopefully this is the link.

Can you point out where Canon explicitly state that the lens is not compatible with your 4000D, because cannot see such a compatibly listing???
There is a drop down list under compatibility which does not include 4000D. However, my understanding is that both EF and EF-S are compatible with APSC

Doh! missed that.

Yes, as iny post #2 above Canon explicitly state it.

The compatibility list does not include all applicable cameras for some reason, eg I cannot find the EOS 40D. As mentioned above all EF and EF-S lenses are compatible with APSC.

For completeness, you could contact Canon.

When, I had my 40D I had all EF lenses but hired the 10-22mm E-FS in the sure knowledge that all would be well.......this was for a holiday in Venice. I never swapped over to my usual 24-105mm EF.

Oh, I had the first version of the 70-300mm and and though I cannot recall the exact issue but I had to send into Elstree because of a recall. However, I was kind of late doing so and by then they had fun out of the required parts......so they sent me a new one!
