Bit of an elderly thread now, wonder if all posters have migrated elsewhere from using R bodies plus whatever L or DO sweeties Canon sells for its new range…
In case anyone still views this thread, I have the older mk1 DO 400, just read that Canon don’t support it any more - that’s a blow for sure. Still, it’s still fully operational so - .
I’m in Fife, so have more grey days and muddy images than most would be my guess. Still, Summer light is here again so here’s hoping for some decent chances?
Bodies are 7D2, 5D3, 5D4, and a new R6/2 from Canon about three weeks back as I’d seen so many scalpel-sharp images on Flickr. Plus - they’d kn9cked £200 of the retail price. That R5/2 was too much of a stretch.
Main interest is birds in flight, but getting to locations is now limited to walking sticks yards from my car as my knees are worn out. I like catching martins, swallows, and an occasional swift. I still have a scattering of older L glass, the ef400 f5.6l usm (fast handling, nicely sharp and LIGHT!)
Quarry species seeming very thin in numbers thus far this year, not looking good for these far travelled little birds…
No point wittering on more since there’s every chance all posters are now elsewhere!
