Yes
I've just got a new laptop.. Windows7 64bit etc etc

I've loaded the software off the disc I had when I bought my 500d last year (like I did on my last laptop)

What I need to know is,

1. do I need to down load a newer version, I'm on DPP version 3.9.1.0 currently.

2. if so, can someone give me the links to which I need to update what I have now. So I know I'm getting the right ones.

Is there anything else I need to update on the new laptop that would have been loaded when I installed the Canon Utlity software?

Thanks

Go to the canon sites, all the drivers are there but you might need to download some earlier versions for some of the updates to work. This is a MIGHT not a definite.

http://software.canon-europe.com/

Go to the download centre put details in...and your software will be available for download.

I was checking this myself the other day and noticed that DPP was only available to download for the 32 bit version of windows 7 and not the 64 bit version but looking online it appears that other people have got it to run successfully on Windows 7 64 bit - let us know how you get on.

thanks, just looking now. It seems to cover all Windows 7, I think.
Utility I'm on 2.9.0

the next update is 2.10.2, so loading that now, then will move onto the next one.

will then look for the next update after 3.9.1.0 on the DPP.

I have DPP ver 3.10.0 but had it for some time so there might be a newer version

Now done DPP
3.9.2.0
&
3.9.3.0

:)

Now.. whats RAW Codec?
do I need to do that too?

:)

It would appear we're on 3.11.1 now

Linky here

no it works here too

You don't need 3.10 or 3.11 for your camera that is why. If you select a 5dII or a 1dmkIV you will be offered the latest software.
